I don't understand what you do...
I simply make:
File - Import
in the dialiog box I choose General/Exinsting Projects into Workspace
in the other dialog box I choose the radio button Select root directory, and
browse in the AjaxExample folder.
Then WOLips recognise the project in the listview,
As I've gotten into it, it's turning out that the HTML parser is a bit more
strict than the source code. I'm fixing the .wo's and that seems to be
resolving the problems.

Just to add to the comment, what I was doing was control click in the
WebObjects Package Explorer of WOLips, and selected the Import... option.
That's where the rule message comes up after apparently importing. I don't
know if it was related to the bad html or not.
