Do a "sudo rm daemon.log.1 debug.1 kern.log.1 user.log.1" to get immediate relief. Then look at the daemon.log, debug, kern.log, and user.log files that remain to see what is in them. This is very unusual. You have something in your os that is logging something you need to investigate.

First thing I'd suggest is to install a webserver (I like nginx) and use that for looking at Belchertown pages. Belchertown can get a little finicky navigating around especially if you run your webserver on an alternate port. Only thing I see that looks perhaps odd is that you have quotes

Likely depends on your stations and how you want to save the data, but weewx-multi can at least set up multiple stations on one computer, albeit with different resulting databases. You're going to have to write something to do your comparison anyway, so you might feed influxdb and use

I just did a clean package install of weewx on a pi3 and then installed the extension with the two commands I posted above. Worked fine. My guess in the absence of much info is that you don't have a good copy of the .tar.gz for the extension. Check your file size and checksum:

The linux os won't create the /dev device(s) until something is connected to the pi, which the 'dmesg' command can tell you. A quick search of the weewx archives says that it might matter which wire that came with the meteo pi hat - see (this thread)

You're perhaps overthinking a bit. 1. weewx runs as root by default, so there's little gained by making a non-'pi' user really. As long as your pi is adequately secured (change the 'pi' password of course) you're probably ok with the default setup. You could choose to make a different
