There's currently no way to figure out if the administrator sent data to
stopforumspam.com when blocking without looking at the extremely verbose debug
log.

According to my quick check of User::pingLimiter, there are also:

linkpurge
rollback
renderfile

And in extensions:

moodbar-response
moodbar-feedback
pagetriage-mark-action
pagetriage-tagging-action

I don't think it makes sense to expose some of these in the UI, but I'm not

This is similar to bug 58620. Since the OOjs UI demos require nodejs/npm setup
similar to building the KSS documentation, fixing this will require similar
steps as hashar outlined in comment 1 there.

[Bug 60418] New: Flow: fatal error with Flow\SpamFilter\AbuseFilter::__construct() when CI runs doMaintenance.php

I noticed in deployment-bastion:/data/project/logs/fatal.log three failures in
the last hour: 25-Jan-2014 06:02:02, 06:32:02 and 7:02:01 in Flow's SpamFilter
setup, e.g.:

[25-Jan-2014 07:02:01] Catchable fatal error: Argument 1 passed to
Flow\SpamFilter\AbuseFilter::__construct() must be an instance of User, null
given, called in
/data/project/apache/common-local/php-master/extensions/Flow/container.php on
line 432 and defined at
/data/project/apache/common-local/php-master/extensions/Flow/includes/SpamFilter/AbuseFilter.php
on line 25

these aren't from the beta labs, they are on deployment-jobrunner08. I suspect
they are occurring when our Continuous Infrastructure tries to set up an MW
environment, but I'm not sure why it didn't happen earlier. The code is
  $c['user'] = $GLOBALS['wgUser'];
so maybe there is no wgUser when running a maintenance script. Code could
check for this, or avoid setting up a controller.abusefilter when running
maintenance scripts.

The most recent backtrace in fatal.log is

This bug is invalid, as far as I'm concerned. It's still unclear what's going
to happen to the wiki at wiki.toolserver.org, but I can't fathom a reason that
we would need to protect outdated/historical pages such as the Toolserver
account approval policy. And protecting individual pages on a wiki (or not) is
outside the scope of Bugzilla.

Bug 60349 reports database errors (duplicate entry for key
'flow_revision_unique_parent' in `flow_revision`) when browser tests edit topic
titles. I scrolled down in the Flow board
https://en.wikipedia.beta.wmflabs.org/wiki/Talk:Flow_QA to load the topic in
the screenshot that had a database error. When I click the timestamp in the
topic titlebar for either
  Title edited0.8243609783129688
(probably the one before the title edit that failed)
  Title edited0.42354122292114904
(probably the title whose edit failed), I get a 500 error. The error page has

PHP fatal error in
/data/project/apache/common-local/php-master/extensions/Flow/includes/Data/RevisionStorage.php
line 550:
Call to a member function fetchSubtreeNodeList() on a non-object

This may be coincidental, but I clicked a bunch of other timestamps in topic
titlebars and they show history fine. (The real proof would be to work out the
workflow IDs for the other 14 database errors in dberror.log in bug 60349 and
attempt to view the topic-history for each of them.) Clicking the mini-pencil
icon > Show change for these topics works fine, as does viewing board history.

The 500 URLs are

On Toolserver, there are additional levels of protection (edithomepage,
editpolicy) because sysop rights were given out rather liberally. After the
move to WMF, a single (small) group of administrators should be enough, so all
pages listed above should be edit- and moveable by sysops only.

[Bug 60415] New: Import wiki.toolserver.org

2014-01-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60415

   Web browser: ---
Bug ID: 60415
   Summary: Import wiki.toolserver.org
   Product: Wikimedia
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: enhancement
  Priority: Unprioritized
 Component: Site requests
  Assignee: wikibugs-l@lists.wikimedia.org
  Reporter: t...@tim-landscheidt.de
CC: benap...@gmail.com,
bugzilla+org.wikime...@tuxmachine.com,
dereck...@espace-win.org, g...@wikimedia.org,
tom...@twkozlowski.net, wikimedia.b...@snowolf.eu
Depends on: 60222
Blocks: 60220
Classification: Unclassified
   Mobile Platform: ---

After setup of the wiki, the existing pages at wiki.toolserver.org need to be
imported.

wiki.toolserver.org uses PostgreSQL as the backend, so
Special:Export/Special:Import is probably the way to go.

It seems that css and js resources do not cache after turn on $wgUseFileCache.

I found that requests of `load.php` will be sended with a `title=load.php`
query, but `useFileCache()` in `includes/cache/ResourceFileCache.php` failed to
check that.

Because as far as I know, it's also used for access to some other services too
(I think the test logstash is an example, as it's still under development and
contains private logs). It's modeled after the ldap/ops group, which has
existed since labs launched.

It's used in gerrit mostly out of convenience, but I could be convinced
otherwise if we can't do this \/

> This would be much more transparent.

I would love to make the ldap groups (and everything about ldap) much much more
accessible on wikitech. There's not a whole lot of private data there.

Is there a way to see the members of the ldap/wmf group?

As I understand it, this ldap/wmf group includes more than just full-time
Wikimedia Foundation engineers. There are contractors in this group. There are
non-engineers in this group.

That should say "entitled... on request." It's not automatically granted, and
it typically *doesn't* get granted until an engineer finds themselves needing
it and ask :)

Rephrase this: any full time WMF engineer is entitled to access to the ldap/wmf
group (ops has +2 on all repos). Like Dan says: non engineers don't usually get
this (and actually this is a nice reminder--I need to remove some former
staffers and hadn't gotten around to it)

ldap/wmf is given review permissions over most non-operations stuff.
Specifically wikimedia/* mediawiki/* and analytics/*. This is mostly done out
of convenience as there's lots of deployed things that an engineer could need
access to.

If a given repo has a desire to deny default group permissions from inheriting,
they can in their ACL(s).

That is right reg. CSS.

Since this is going to be merged into core/php-parser, presumably, you control
this behavior and where in the parser pipeline the outer wrapping tag is
generated? I haven't looked at the parser changes to answer that or how easy
this is since I haven't really hacked the php parser. Maybe Scott can answer
that more readily.

At least with Parsoid, that is what we will consider outputting for this new
tag unless VE folks find a tag simpler than a marked up tag (seems
unlikely).

Perhaps, but it's the current code review tool. :-)

Further information about the technical details behind the current

What you are saying makes sense. Presumably the CSS for .poem would have to
"neutralise" the monospace/gray formatting normally applied to pre tags.

My main question is, if we output a tag from the tag hook, will wikitext
inside that tag still get parsed, as it should be?

We weren't very clear about what we were discussing there.

What Scott meant is that the patch should generate ..
for the HTML of the .. (or or whatever tag name
is picked) instead of generating ... It is cleaner and
the ouput is semantically closer to the intention of the tag.

As I understand it, any Wikimedia Foundation employee can +2 code in Gerrit.

I do see what you mean here. The problem is, we have so far been unable to come
up with a better name! is inappropriate as too specific/narrow.

> Is there another way of achieving this
> without adding a new tag?

The tag is already in wide use. I don't see the problem with adding a
tag for this functionality.

(In reply to comment #20)
> IMO the tag should be rendered as class="poem"> and it has exactly the behavior of indent-pre (with an extra

A few questions about this statement:

* The gray box/monospaced font of /indent-pre would have to be removed for
   blocks.
* What are the existing differences between and indent-pre?
* does not render identically to indent-pre, so could you explain how
  rendering poems using would help?

[Bug 60411] New: VisualEditor: Definition list (association list) formatting is partly removed if manually added, not just nowiki'd

2014-01-24 Thread bugzilla-daemon
https://bugzilla.wikimedia.org/show_bug.cgi?id=60411

   Web browser: Apple Safari
Bug ID: 60411
Summary: VisualEditor: Definition list (association list)
formatting is partly removed if manually added, not
just nowiki'd
   Product: VisualEditor
   Version: unspecified
  Hardware: All
OS: All
Status: NEW
  Severity: normal
  Priority: Unprioritized
 Component: General
  Assignee: jforres...@wikimedia.org
  Reporter: wmf.whatamido...@yahoo.com
CC: jforres...@wikimedia.org, jh...@wikimedia.org,
krinklem...@gmail.com, ryasm...@wikimedia.org
Classification: Unclassified
   Mobile Platform: ---

Intention:
Add a list

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Type (at the start of a new line): ;Foo: Bar
2. Review changes

Actual Results:
It saves the page as Foo: Bar. The leading ";" disappears.
There is no wikitext warning.

Expected Results:
Since these lists aren't supported yet, I expected the ";" to be nowiki'd and
to get a wikitext warning.

Reproducible: Didn't try

Gerrit change 99265 can cause problems for extensions adding extra parameters
using the SpecialSearchCreateLink hook.

And I updated the documentation at
https://www.mediawiki.org/wiki/Manual:Hooks/SpecialSearchCreateLink (please
think of the documentation when changing hooks).

Merged, closing this bug.

This bug was caused by the addition of a second default parameter in gerrit
change 99265.
