[WSG] Visual Design Of Websites

2007-07-10 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.
just wondering, any one able to give advice, help, tips, tricks and techniques.
now, failed my two visual design subjects in my web site design course.
and have to re-enroll for next semester.
the main problems i had was understanding layers in css, and how to use them in
a website.
like, for example, a banner layer, conetn, navigation, use of colors,
proximity,contrast etc.
and also when i found my images for the site was creating, the images were too
big, and even though i used the width and height property in the html code,
still was too big and dominating the content on the page.
also the color, was the wrong background and fore ground color.
and also, for my other subject page design and layout, any one got any good
examples, or tips of how to do good design and page layout, and use of colors,
on the page, but still got the css, layers problems, and not understanding of
the different page design layouts.
and the same problem with the images, too big, and not able to edit or crop,
using a graphics or photo editor program with jaws, without sighted help, which
i have asked my disability officer, for some assistance.
also, for one of the subjects for next semester, will come up again, with the
developing a commercial website, and how it looks, and functions.
and also, story boards, as not able to use a accessible drawing package, like
Visio, to use with a screen reader.
so had to do it in word, and put tables, but still did not work out correct.
sorry for the long message, but had to explain myself, about design,
positioning, colors, layout, etc.
if any one can help, e-mail me privately.
cheers Marvin.

[WSG] Re: WSG Digest

2007-07-11 Thread Marvin Hunkin

Hi.
yes, i know how to do html, css, javascript, and use notepad, but had to use
dream weaver for one subjects, which was to improve a site, and have a
flashy macromedia flash splash page, which i got a distinction for that,
importing a flash control, a audio track, and putting together images in
cells.

and now, the only problem, is to understand how layers work.
i know how html, css, and javascript work.
it is the visual design.
well, the course deals with both front end and back end design.
and photoshop is going to be a challenge, as i do not think it works well
with jaws.

cheers Marvin.

Hi Marvin,

It sounds like your trying to do to much to soon.

First, lets understand the different aspects of web development.

1) Web Design - This involves understanding colors, extensive knowledge in
graphics
applications such as photoshop, illustrator or fireworks.

2) Front End - This is the coding side of things, the HTML, CSS and
Javascript. Some
front end developers can design aswell.

3) Back End - This is the PHP, MySQL, Java, ASP, Perl and other web based
languages*.
Alot of back end developers spend so much time behind what you see that they
dont know
much about developing front end, but still, alot of people can and do know
all 3.

There is more sides to the web, but i wont discuss them. To me it sounds
like your trying to take
on all 3, without having any working knowledge, or not enough knowledge of
any.

Personally i think you should sit back, and ask yourself what you want to do
over the next 2 years,
is it front end, or back end, or purley design? And when you've made up your
mind, spend the time
and learn more. If you cant grasp layers for design, your in a bit of a mess
as this is real basic stuff,
so understanding how photoshop works would be a great start, but you can't
expect yourself to
learn this all in a day.

Do what feels right, but at the moment, i would'nt waste anymore time and/or
money on this course
until you can get to grips with the basics, which is at least Photoshop,
HTML and CSS.

There are some good resources out there, search google.

Good luck, and keep sticking at it, i can recommend a few good books if you
need. I will give you one
tip, if your going to be doing front end (HTML, CSS, JS) try to use notepad
or notepad++, dont bother
with WYSIWYG editors such as dreamweaver ect. Notepad and the W3C Manuals
should be enough
to learn the foundations.

Kind Regards

[WSG] Accessible Adobe Photoshop and flash With Jaws

2007-09-25 Thread marvin hunkin

Hi.
well, next year looking at doing the diploma in information technology, website
development.
a couple of challenges i have, is that a couple of units, i probably will not
be able to do, as one is to use advanced and basic features of adobe photoshop,
to crop, manipulate images, and create 2d and 3d animation, using adobe flash,
as part of my major project.
Now, the National Traning Information System, which is governed by a national
curriculum, for tafe across Australia, and comes from the department of
education, canberra.
now, as i will have trouble being deemed competent, because jaws, will not work
with this software, as a core part of the course, and i have spoken to my
disability office and the main lecturer, who organises the learning curriculum
and talks to other lecturers.
they will be using adobe photo shop, adobe flash.
i know, i could probably use the flash development kit, but the major challenge
is the graphics side of things. So they are willing to bend, in their
curriculum, as they said i would have an advantage, if i had sighted help to
crop, edit and manipulate the objects.
so, got any tips, tricks, or any work arounds for that, or is this a
dissability discrimination act complaint, that might change their mind and bend
to accomodate, not just me, but another vision impaired friend of mine is doing
the same diploma with new south wales tafe, as this is a national curriculum,
and has been rolled out as the new training package for the past 12 months.
if you can let me know, how to get round this problem, as the other subjects, i
should be able to use php, editor, my sql database, visual studio.net 2005, for
the asp stuff, etc.
if anyone has had the same problem or situation, let me know asap.
having a meeting soon to review what i have done this year for certificate iv
in website development.
cheers marvin.

[WSG] Story Boards

2007-10-09 Thread marvin hunkin

Hi.
doing a project for my website development course.
now, part of the requirements says that i need to create a story board to
represent what content is to be displayed on each page.
Now sighted students, would draw navigation and story board diagrams.
now, had to do this in word tables and tried html.
but my lecturer is still not happy with what i have come up with.
now, just wondering, is there any software, that might be able to represent the
story boards for the four websites that i am developing for this semester.
any tips, tricks, or any other similar experiences.
let me know, if anyone been in the same position.
unfortunately the guy who did start to develop an accessible text to speech
drawing software, got his phd, and did not complete the project and still in
limbo.
he got to the third user tests, and then nicked off.
he did this at Burkely University in Callifornia and the product was to be
called Intercommunication Draw 2.
okay, can you help out or give suggestions or how to resolve these problems?
cheers Marvin.

[WSG] My Website query

2008-05-22 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.
1. well, need to download the ati radian display drivers for this Del
Latitude laptop.
so that is why jaws not reading properly.
2. now, could you take a look at my site, and let me know, how to
increase the font, or maybe change it from percentage font size to
actual font point size.
if you have any vision, or maybe ask some sighted colleagues or
friends, what sizes, for all elements on the page do i need to change
it to? maybe you have some web designers, you know.
if i download jaws 9.1, what performance would i get out of this
upgrade? any use to download and install this one?
3. now, was wondering, could you take a look at my 80s history page.
if my parents stumbled on to it, might get the fourth degree. so can
you take a look at the content, and maybe suggest, how i could maybe
tone down the information, or tone down the way the text is written to
be more appealing to those reading it, and maybe even be a bit more
conservative.
4. now, looking for some accessability tools to check to see if my
pages pass all vallidation, for people with all sorts of disabilities,
like colour blind, colour dependent, flickering, and passes all
vallidation via w3c, and also section 508. can you suggest some tools,
and also, to check for correct colour, broken links, and maybe off
line, as not always on the net, so i could download and run andcheck
off line, as editing off line at the moment. if you can help, or
pass on my message maybe to some of those that you do know, that could
help, let me know asap.
5. Now, when i read using the paragraph mode, when i go to my
headings and list of links, the navigation and the Other links, read
all in one list, but on the Star Trek Links , they read one at a time
using paragraph mode. How can i get all the links to read the same on
the page?
cheers Marvin.

I am still unclear about what zip file you want as there is no more original
site files that were in a zipped file. That was left online and I can't
find it.

I have no problems with the colors, backgrounds, images or font sizes, but
it is your site and, if you aren't happy because someone else isn't happy
with it, then I don't know what to do for you as that is very time consuming
editing 900+ pages and you don't seem to want to follow my advice anymore.

I will zip what I have here when done with finding images and send it to you

and also, is the colours, backgrounds, images, and the font sizes,
okay, or do i need to change any thing?

[WSG] Fwd: Fix for Nav Links Centering and Blockquotes

I'm sorry, marvin, but you can't make everyone happy as to the font problem
without ruining your site for everyone else. Your friend should have
continued to increase the font size until he could read it, but don't let
people talk you into something that will mess your pages up. Everyone can
control the font sizes through their browsers and they also can set their
own computers to display larger fonts by setting the system font size much
larger.

Maybe you should provide instructions to others for how to increase the
fonts in their browsers so you don't need to edit hundreds of pages and make
your page layouts look terrible.

Hi.
well, one guy on the wsg list, asking for feedback about my site,
said, that the fonts were really small, and as a part sighted person,
had to increase them 3 or 4 times, and he said still way too small.
the wsg list address to post is wsg@webstandardsgroup.org
and maybe subscribe and post there.
okay, will go and have a look at the images, zip file, i downloaded.
and okay, will put your changes in the style sheets, and the div tags
for the pages, will do that this weekend, and then edit the other
content.
sorry about that.
cheers marvin.
ps: so, do i use the pages, i downloaded them, for the star trek, or
just put all the episodes in season folders, go and find the season
folders, and then put the references to those links on the episode
page?
so i can then match off line, what is online?
is this right?
okay, will start to do that on the weekend.
cheers marvin.

[WSG] My Sites

2008-10-03 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.
at http://startrekcafe.stevesdomain.net and
http://www.freewebs.com/startrekcafe, had to close the sites, because of
copyright issues, and over the next several months will have to track down
the copyright owners, for my school projects, and my own hobby site, and get
written permission to use their material on my sites, for personal and non
profit business.
now, can any one recommend, how i go about contacting them, like tried
sending a message to the owner of the star trek epguides info page at
http:///startrek.epguides.info
and my friend ron payne, email,[EMAIL PROTECTED] and
http://paynelessdesigns.com, says, he will have to go and find which images,
he created for me for my star trek page, and which ones are his and others,
and also, uses the text for my synopsis , for each episode for the five
series.
any one got any thoughts.
did contact some one the [EMAIL PROTECTED] list and a solicitor, and
she deals with copyright issues on the web.
and she said i should shut them down, or risk being prosecuted or sued by
people, because of breach of copyright.
let me know, what i should do next, on or off list.
cheers Marvin.

[WSG] YouTube Image Capture Accessibility

2008-12-25 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.
well that old chest nut again. tried to signup for youtube, but ran into the
image capture, and no alternative capture.
so no sighted help around.
and if i go to the youtube contact page, no e-mail, just look in the help
resources. well tried to signup a few months ago, and ran into the same
problem. and if i try to go to the help pages or resoucesresources, and try
to click on any thing, it comes up with the singup or login screen. so how
do i get around this and the only contact is the pr...@youtube.com, which i
sent a message asking them to redirect to the owners of this site and making
alternative capture possible for us blind people. so how did you get around
this problem. a lot of sites seem to have no alternative capture for us
blind people, who cannot see. now, did try firefox and web visum, but did
not work, tried several times, tried clicking on the image, and using alt
control 7 and got the web visum tool, but think i am logged in, or cannot
remember my password, did click on forgot password, but nothing happend. so,
how do i singup up, without getting very frustrated and not bother about
signup and missing out on trying to find my favorite start trek videos to
download and watch like star trek the next generation or voyager. so got any
suggestions?
cheers Marvin.

[WSG] My Page Please Review

2009-01-03 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.
for reasons, which i cannot really go into, did have a site, but had to pull
it down for copyright issues.
and now, got a local copy of my css, and my index page at
http://drop.io/startrekcafe
now, could some one taek a look at the front page. and really interested, to
see if the fonts, look fine, the line height, and margins, and if the
colours are right, and the fonts are fine.
so let me know, so then if i need to make any changes, then let me know.
have contacted the owner of the background image, and the image, for my
front page.
and also looking to get star trek futuristic fonts, and if i upload them to
my server, will then people be able to view these fonts, so it looks
professional and futuristic.
so, did get some feedback from a blind web designer friend, and so made the
changes he suggested.
so if you could help me out, that would be fine.
got 2 style sheets, one for the main page, and another for all my star trek
pages.
so if you could help me out, so, then hard to visualize the way the fonts
look, line height, font size, and margins, for a totally blind person like
me.
and so, on each page, then will just edit the content, and then get
permission to use the image on each page, then once all done, then looking
to expand the site.
so if you can help me out, with the style sheet, almost got it finished, i
think.

[WSG] Checking My Page

2009-01-14 Thread Marvin Hunkin
HI James.
well, got over 800 pages of content, for my star trek site, and just wanted
to get my front page and the css, formatted right.
need the nav links, and the java script.
that is part of my design.
just needed help with css errors, and general feedback on formatting,
colours, backgrounds, and accessibility.
then got a second style sheet, which is my main star trek style sheet.
once i get the styles .css working, then can then modify the
startrek_org.css and then start editing my pages, and then finding the
people who own the images for each page, get their permission.
then on my copyright page, will have a credits links, with credits of the
sites where the images came from.
cheers Marvin.
ps: yep, still wating for that paper.
and okay, sorry not for a help desk list, then where should i ask for help
to fix my errors, and get general feedback on my page, just a starting
point, and got plenty of content, as i mentioned above.

[WSG] FS Cast 26

2009-01-25 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.
a blind website designer, using the jaws for windows screen reader from
freedom scientific.
based in ST Petersburg, Florida.
and go to http://www.freedomscientific.com
well, one of their options they have is you can listen to a pod cast called
fs cast, and hosted by Jonathon Mosen, who is in New Zealand, and he has a
guest on talking about inovations at freedom scientific
and january's fs cas, and you can download the pod cast, he was talking to
the Cheif Technology Officer, glen Gordan, about web 2.0, and Assistive Rich
Internet Applications (aria)
and how web authors can enable their websites to put in the w3c (world wide
consortium) guidelines for web 2.0,a nd implement the aria roll documents
and the roll state elements, and using the virtual cursur.
he demonstrated a few sites, with the jaws, 10.
this is the latest version, and demonstrated firefox 3.04, mozilla chat.
and works really great.
and for aria websites, you turn the virtual cursur feature off.
and the other important element, is keyboard accessibility.
so thought would let everyone know about this breakthrough in technology for
the blind and me, like looking to develop a chat application for my star
trek site, so will be looking to use these guidelines and technologies.
and for web standard guidelines the w3c has produced documentation for aria
to work with screen readers.
cheers Marvin.

[WSG] Copyright Issues

2009-02-17 Thread Marvin Hunkin
Hi.
doing a fruit and veg site, and now asked for permission to use recipes from
Delia smith, Jamie Oliver, Nigella Lawson.
but no success, and not able to use their recipies from their sites for my
own site.
part of my site, was a recipies page, with about 6 recipies.
now, would like to put this site online, but my question is:
what vegetable recpies and legal and free, and which people to approach to
get permission.
any ideas, or pointers.
got permission to use images, which i found on google from the owners.
and will put a credits links, and a page, next to my copyright page on this
site.
any one got any ideas, this is the last piece of the current site and
student web project, which i want to upload online.
but do not want to be prosecuted for copyright infringement in australia.
so doing the right thing and getting permission.
before uploading this site.
any ideas.

Marvin,

ok, firstly, on the style sheet, your you have either a difference in dos
verses Linux/html or a mistake, when on a computer such as the one your
reading this on, you had two periods as the reference to the CSS style sheet
instead of three, default font on my I.E. 6 is verdonna, yours on the sheet
seems to be times new roman, I added one period to your style sheet
reference to properly make the computer go up one full directory level
before looking for the styles folder and suddenly it found it!

on the second matter, its a similar problem, I went to w3schools.com and
looked at the tables tutorial, and yours was picture perfect in code, but
the table was not showing up on either of my computers in I.E. 6 or 7. so I
thought about it for a bit and decided to try it out in an actual server
environment.

so I uploaded the index file and the style folder with its joe.css file (or
whatever the exact name was) up to my web site and tried connecting to the
page there, and va la! when I connected I got both the times new roman font
and the table showed up just fine.

it's just the main sheet, the index.html, but if you wish to try it with I.

[WSG] ACCESSIBILITY OF WEB SITES WITH A SCREEN READER

2009-06-26 Thread Marvin Hunkin
HI.
WELL BEEN 10 YEARS ON THE WEB.
AND 99% OF WEBSITES ARE ACCESSIBLE WITH THE JAWS SCREEN READER FROM
HTTP://WWW.FREEDOMSCIENTIFIC.COM
AND THE DIFFERENCE IN THE SCREEN READER LIKE JAWS, WINDOW EYES, HAL, SYSTEM
ACCESS TO GO ARE THE WAY THEY USE THE VIRTUAL BUFFER AND HOW THEY READ
ELEMENTS ON A PAGE.
JAWS WILL READ TEXT, LINKS, MOUSE OVER LINKS, FRAMES, TABLES, BUTTONS, CHECK
BOXES, ETC.
AND THE ONLY SITE WHICH I COULD NOT NAVIGATE WAS A DATABASE PAGE, ALL WITH
GRAPHICS AND SLIDE SHOWS FROM A UNIVERSITY IN AUSTRALIA.
AND EVEN WITH FLASH, IT WILL READ THE BUTTONS AND THE TEXT IF CODED
PROEPRLY.
AND THERE ARE ARTICLES ABOUT HOW TO CODE FLASH FOR ACCESSIBILITY AT
HTTP://WWW.ADOBE.COM
ANDREWK KIRK PATRICK IS THE ACCESSIBILITY MANAGER AT ADOBE.
SO, MY EXPEREICNE, SOME FLASH IS ACCESSIBLE.
AND YEAH WOULD BE HANDY IF SUB TITLES WERE READ OUT AND OTHER AUDIO
DESCRIPTIVE ELEEMENTS WHEN PLAYING A MP3, AUDIO OR VIDEO CLIP.
AND ALSO WITH GRAPHICS, WITH ALT TAGS, IT READS IT FINE.
IT ALSO READ S FRAMES.
THE ADAPTIVE TECHNOLGY COMPANIES ARE CREATING THEIR PRODUCTS FOR NEW
EMERGING TECHNOLOGIES ON THE WEB .
IF YOU GO TO HTTP://WWW.FREEEDOMSCIENTIFIC.COM AND SEARCH FOR THE APRIL AND
JANUARY PDOCASTS, AND ALSO LOOK AT HTTP://EASI.EDU AND SEARCH FOR THE ARIA
POD CAST.
THESE COMAPNIES ARE LIKE SCRIPTING FOR ACCESSIBLE RICH INTERNET
APPLICATIONS.
IT CAN BE DONE AND NOT MUCH EXTRA CODE TO READ LAND MARKS, LIVE REGIONS,
ETC.
SO THAT'S MY EXPEREICNE USING THE WEB AS A BLIND PERSON.
ABLE TO LISTEN TO ONLINE RADIO STATIONS TO SPORTS EVENTS, LIKE
HTTP://WWW.AFL.COM.AU
AND OTHER SPROTS, LIKE WIMBLEDON, AND A BLIND GUY HAS LINKS TO A PAGE WITH
LIVE AUDIO AT HTTP://WWW.OPTUSNET.COM.AU/STEPHENJOLLEY/LIVESTREAM.HTML
AND HE UPDATES IT.
ALSO THERE A LOT OF BLIND PEOPLE USING FACE BOOK, TWITTER, AND LIEK ME USING

 Corvette Veterans Club

Obituary Three

Welcome to the Corvette Veterans Club Obituary Three Page. Read
about Corvette Veterans who have died while serving in armed combat during
  World War Two.

Obituary: Alice DeWitt

Sagamore Hills- Alice DeWitt, 88, a nurse in combat hospitals during
World War II and an associate director of the former St. Alexis Hospital
nursing school, died Monday at Marymount Hospital in Garfield Heights.
She was the wife of the late Dr. Paul DeWitt, a pathologist for the
Summit County medical examiner's office. He died in a car accident in 1980,
16 years after they married.
She was born Alice Koprowski in Cleveland. She enlisted in the Army Nurse
Corps in 1942 and over the next three years worked in hospitals in Bizerte
in northern Africa; Marseilles, France; and Palermo, Sicily.
In 1991, she told her local paper, The News Leader, that while she was in
the hospital in Bizerte, it came under attack from planes dropping
bombs.
"You have a second nature at times like that," she said. "You freeze, not
even thinking about how you could have been hurt until after it's over. When
it finally was over, everybody headed for the latrines."
She received several service medals for her work.
After the war, DeWitt graduated from nursing school, then earned a
master's degree in education from John Carroll University. She retired when
the St. Alexis nursing school closed.
She was a member of St. Stanislaus Catholic Church in Cleveland and was
active in several church and arts charities. She regularly rescued and cared
for stray and sick animals before finding homes for them.

[WSG] my site

hi.
well.
did this for a course a couple of years ago.
and got legal use to use all the images.
so want to put this up on a site.
as a port folio of my student web projects.
got a number of projects.
which trying to find the owners of images and get their permission.
like a world war ii veterans club site, a soccer club site, mens wear store
site, a child's flea circus. so will go and take your suggestions for the
fruit shop site.
and put lists.
for the links.
then will get rid of the second nav menu.
and the images.
it was just for sighted users.
so will go and look at those tutorials.
how to design and redesign the site with the css, and the java script.
thanks for your help.
then a more slicker, more accessible site.
and will use the vision australia colour tool.
to try to get the best solution for sighted and blind users.
cheers Marvin.
ps: not so stubborn after all.
and did pass this subject and the course.
so updating the projects. to get around legal copyright issues.

[WSG] visual web developer and jaws

2010-01-11 Thread Marvin Hunkin
hi.
when i had jaws 10 and started this star trek application over 12 months
ago.
when say arrowing down and reaidng in the browser.
for each episode say for example season 4 episode 1 the best of both worlds
part one.
the buttons i have are edit, delete and new.
when reading using the down arrow with jaws 11.0.746 u, the buttons read all
on one line.
and not each button on each own separate line.
well any visual web developer gurus.
using visual web developer 2008 express, sql server and sql management
studio 2008 express, on a toshiba a300 satellite psag4a 30020m.
2 gb ram, 250 gb hard disk, 2.1 ghz proessor, ati radium video card, real
tech audio manager, built in web cam and microphone.
so how to fix this, so the buttons read on each line, instead on all one
line.
maybe in the markup code or maybe in the code behind file.
just found this annoying when i went to jaws 11.
the web site and the database reads fine.
just annoying for me.
did intend it so that the buttons were on each line one button on its own.
any one got any ideas.
Marvin.

[WSG] css tutorial

2010-01-14 Thread Marvin Hunkin
hi.
well a member of blind geeks.
and asked to write a short basic tutorial on css.
did learn css in my web design course in 2007.
and di use it a bit to tweek a web project recently.
but my question is:
what resources and what links to some tutorials to get a handle on how to
write a short css tutorial.
and how to write one.
and what do i need to put in it.
just asking.
i do know css, but a bit rusty.
and totally blind.
so the biggest problem, where things are located on screen.
so any one got any ideas where to start and how to write a tutorial for this
technical group.
Marvin.

[WSG] font names problem in internet explorer

2010-01-16 Thread Marvin Hunkin
hi.
well tried fixing the error in the css.
but still not reading the font names.
just says centered.
and it is not a internet explorer problem or a jaws problem.
was able to go to a couple of sites.
use the insert f command in jaws which reads the font on the selected
element.
so wonder if my font names are all screwed or not right.
how to fix this.
please help me out.
when i was internet explorer 7, would read the font names.
but in internet explorer 8.
does not read it.
so some is screwing my code.
please help.
maybe got the font names not correctly coded.
will paste my style sheet below.
so it is some thing with my style sheet.
or maybe in the wrong place.
will copy and paste the code of my main page.
so you can see the location of where my style sheet is.
Marvin.

[WSG] internet explorer font names

2010-01-18 Thread Marvin Hunkin
hi.
what do you mean vallidate the css and the pages.
did do that a while back and it vallidated all.
now in internet explorer 7, it would read all the names on all elements.
it does not with internet explorer 8.
so how to fix this.
maybe can test in ie 7 and ie8.
and see if it is reading the font names.
well for the body.
thought it would read the other elements as well.
unless i need to put the font names for all elements.
please help me out.
or might just have to roll back to ie7, which i do not really want to.
so wonder if it is a internet explorer issue.
and trying to find the contact form for tech site on the microsoft site with
a screen reader is a real pain.

[WSG] vallidation nightmares

2010-01-19 Thread Marvin Hunkin
hi.
using the we3 c vallidator.
and not liking my xhtml code.
and usign the jaws for windows screen reader.
and reading me all the elements like
so not sure what is happening.
trying to vallidate .
but the vallidator is being real picky.
i know my code is correct.
now can any one help me out to fix these problems.
got the first page vallidated and that was the copyright page.
now up to the credits page.
not liking the div element for some reason.
please help me out.
and also did some one saying no inside an ul element for a list.
well how to code it so when reading by paragraph which i use control down
arrow.
then want to hear the heading.
then a blank.
and then the list which tells me list of 10 items.
then i want to hear the first item on the next line.
and the end of the list.
want to hear the word list on its own line.
please help me out.
getting real annoyed and frustrated.
and hate this site.
they have redesigned it, so to make it harder for the blind person.
a couple times trying to use the alt left arrow to go back to revallidate
and the stupid site would not let me so had to type the address to go back
in.
if there are any more screen reader frendly and easy to use vallidators let
me know.
been at least 6 months since i visted this site and was more screen reader
friendly.
i hate that when they redesign it.
and do not take the blind into consideration.
okay that's my beef for today.
now will poste the code of the vallidated output and my file code below.
cheers Marvin.

Joe's Fruit and Vegetables started out as a traditional store selling
fruit and vegetables, along with other commodity items such as milk, soft
drinks,
sweets etc. Joe's has been in business for 27 years and has a reputation for
the quality of their goods.
The proprietor, Joe Bashir, has discovered that there are many people
who, through work schedules and home lifestyles, don't have the opportunity
to shop
in person.
For convenience, they did fruit and vegetable shopping at supermarkets,
but were not happy with the quality of the produce from the supermarkets.
Joe wants to tempt these customers back by taking his store to them, in
their homes.
Joe has built up a strong following for his world class produce that he
sells in Australia. He has built up a following, in his town, and gives the
best quality produce, in Victoria. So he is trying to corner the local
market, and strike back against the big multi national chains like
WoolWorths and Coles. But he has a small sector of the fruit and vegetable
market. He will compete with the big boys, and may win in the end. More
customers, and he makes more profit for he and his share holders, for
returning a dividend to their bottom line.

Line 9, Column 3: document type does not allow element "p" here; assuming
missing "body" start-tag
  ?
Line 10, Column 6: document type does not allow element "body" here

The element named above was found in a context where it is not allowed. This
could mean that you have incorrectly nested elements -- such as a "style"
element in the "body" section instead of inside "head" -- or two elements
that overlap (which is not allowed).

One common cause for this error is the use of XHTML syntax in HTML
documents. Due to HTML's rules of implicitly closed elements, this error can
create cascading effects. For instance, using XHTML's "self-closing" tags
for "meta" and "link" in the "head" section of a HTML document may cause the
parser to infer the end of the "head" section and the beginning of the
"body" section (where "link" and "meta" are not allowed; hence the reported
error).
