similar problems.
i first thought that it might be problems with matroxfb (framebuffer
kernel driver), but after intensive debugging, and _no_ kernel messages
at freeze, matroxfb maintainer believes that the bug is in xfree86.
did anyone make similar experiences?

to me? Is an event for the specific device emitted if the data
you get with read(/dev/mouse...) (or whatever device the driver is set to
in xfree86config) changes? or does the mouse send a certain signal? and where
does it get processed?
