I don't think that a boutique brewery which puts out a limited edition
beer in honor of FZ
can really qualify as a commercialized memorabilia product of a
celebrity figure,
it certainly is not going to show up at a Toys R Us or Wall Mart store,
nor is
it going to be available through Amazon.com
I believe that it is just a sweet tribute to someone that the brewery
owner really admires
I sure would love to have a bottle...

as far as the action figure dolls go - I have never in my life purchased
memorabilia products for my music heroes other than T-shirts,
but - I'd definitely buy a Phi Zappa Crappa doll of FZ sitting on the
toilet all NEKKID just like the old poster from way back when!!!

[Zappa-List] Re: Zappa Beer

2008-02-12 Thread myoozik770
Lagunitas 'sponsored' us on the last tour with 20 cases of Kill Ugly
Radio Beer... ill post a picture of Ike making the toast... its
pretty good and saving one autographed bottle for display... i also
heard that Gail contacted the brewery and sent them a letter saying
she wanted them to stop making FZ brew...

When seeing this subject come up I'm reminded of
the irony. Does anyone else recall FZ going on briefly about beer (and its
association with stupidity) in the Real Frank Zappa Book?

and of course there would be his stance against
drugs in general, and alcohol is in fact a drug (albeit a legal drug as opposed
to those 'untaxed' drugs)

As I said, irony.

FZ drank beer and wine - in moderation.. . His stance was against
intoxication, not against the intoxicants.
