I recommend KMail for those who prefer a GUI reader.

It boasts an impressive list of features, including the invaluable SSL POP and

Hi,

It ts_regex that comes with Zope 2.5.1 seems to rely on regex.
Is re thread safe?

Also, Plugins from ZPatterns uses ts_regex, is there a later version
of Plugins that dones use it?

Thanks in advance,

It's a stupid misfeature. If you reply to something that is signed, it
assume you want to sign yours. You can (at least in OE6) deselect this and
send anyway, but it's annoying. Worse is, tha unless you open the signed
mail by double clicking on it (for example you open it by pressign the next
button on the previous mail) it doesn't recognize the fact that it is
signed, and shows the mails as two attachements instead.

Stupid, stupid, stupid.

And this is Dirk's fault, rather than a horrible mis-feature of Outlook
Express? I have a feeling you can probably reconfigure OE to go ahead and
send, anyway, rather than discouraging people who wish to sign there
mails from signing them.

Hi Maik,
hi all,

I want to backport PHParser to Zope-2.3.3 with Python 1.5.2.

I currently have the problem that the following code:

   (stin,stout)=popen2(PHPath)
 from zLOG import LOG, INFO
 LOG("PHPParser", INFO, "stin %s" %stin)
 LOG("PHPParser", INFO, "stout %s" %stout)
 stin.write('' % (self.absolute_url()))

will give error:

An error was encountered while publishing this resource.

Error Type: IOError
Error Value: [Errno 9] Bad file descriptor

>From the log:

2002-04-25T11:10:04 INFO(0) PHPParser stin
--
2002-04-25T11:10:04 INFO(0) PHPParser stout

I would say that everything is OK in the code, but Zope/Python has an other opinion.

Has anybody a guess for me ?

Thanks,
Dirk

2002-04-25 Thread Gilles Lenfant

Hi,

It worked perfectly for me. I just got a couple of deprecation warnings when starting
zope (should use re and not - unmaintained - regexp module).
As far as I can follow the traceback, the BTree problem is off topic for your issue.
I suspect you did not install Python 2.1.3 from source, or you did a python 2.1.3
binary install without the python-dev kit.
It seems that error is raised because the proper Makefile.pre.in has not been found.

Don't use 2.1.3 because Zope 2.3 is not supported to run under Python 2.X.
Use Python 1.5.2 instead.

The connection is made when the next request comes in, and the
connection is broken when ZODB decides it is time to deactivate the DA
object; which is hopefully only happens if the connection has not been
used for a while.

I think you will have to fight ZODB if you need:
* The connection to always stay up
* one connection per instance of a class stored in ZODB
  (like database adapters)

Initialize looks like the right place to me. What do you think this is
too early for?

One thing that might be nice to add is *dependencies* between product
initialization. Today you have to rely on Zope sorting product names
alphabetically before initialization, which slightly sucks.

Public access? no. currently you have to hack through the jar.

I agree there should be an API for this.
