What defines Python is it's lack of complier directives.
Seems like SeaPig falls into this camp I would say.
Plus now that Twitter has reduced our attention span to a vocabulary
of 140 chars or less.
Web postings to the Seapig site are so 1999 and take more work than
most seem to have.
Just an observation mind you.
Also there is some discussions going on to redesign the SeaPig website.
Don't be shy anyone, if you are interesting in adding to that dialog.

If there were, hypothetically, someone interested in making some
kind of improvement to the jobs page, would that be welcome, and if
so, how should it be done? That is, should they just do it? Should
they propose the change first to Mike or first to the list or some
other procedure? I ask mainly because I don't understand how such
things work at SeaPIG (or have worked in the past), and it would be
interesting to know (for myself or for others who might have
something they want to contribute) how to do so without fear of
doing something "wrong" or unwelcome. It strikes me that many on the
list are web programmers and that making a cool web utility for the
SeaPIG website might be one neat way for such a person to showcase
their skills, particularly for those web programmers who are job-
hunting. Just a thought.
Thanks, in advance, for educating me!
Best regards,
Melissa

1. Is there some utility to having a jobs page at SeaPIG? I would
say an advantage is that the focus is on local jobs compared to the
national/international focus at Python.org, for instance.
2. Since the jobs page at SeaPIG is self-serve (true?) then why are
job offerers not using it? Are they not aware of it? Not aware how
to use it? Other problems? Perhaps someone is interested in putting
some energy into investigating and addressing these issues?
The jobs page is intended to be a revolving list of local jobs
available. The list has always accepted job listings, and recently
I've been encouraging companies who contact me to post both on the
list and on the jobs page. A lot of people don't realize the jobs
page exists, both because it's fairly new, and because they either
don't know the website exists, or they don't see the jobs page
because there's no big buttom for it. So it's the best thing we have
for now but it's not that great.
We have never tried a "Who's hiring this month?" thread; that may be
a good idea. I think it would be easier to just let them reply
directly to the list.
