Hi, guys:
my sentra has stock 175/65/14 tires. i don't want to pack on a lot of
miles by plus sizing my wheels, so i may just change the width of my tires.
the original diameter is 23", and i am looking into 205/55/14 tires with a
diameter of 22.9". Because the new diameter is negative, do you think there
will be any adverse affects on the car besides the odometer showing less
mileage than it should have?
i was looking at tirerack.com, and the 205/55/14's seem rare and pricy,
but i'm willing to do that rather than do the wheel thing.
what do you think?
Also, i think i got my question answered on plus sizing and the affects on
ABS. several guys at a shop told me that ABS won't be affected as long as
the new diameter is relatively close to the factory one (someone quoted a
maximum of +/- 15% diff, but i wouldn't go that far). The ABS computer just
needs to read a similar ratio to work. So that answers that (?)....
