You actually have that reversed... A larger tire will put fewer mile on your
car and smaller tires will rack up the odometer. This is due to the fact that
a lager diameter tire will always travel further when rotated the same amount
as a smaller tire. The odometer/speedo  is connected to the transmission and
measures the amount the axles turn, if you have + size tires you can travel
further for the same amount of axle rotation (due to the increased circumference
of the tire)
