Okay, Chris, i'll try to see if i can explain it a little clearer.

my current wheel/tire size: 175/65/14, overall diameter= 23
   Here, 60 mph = 60 mph

possibilities:

  205/45/16, diameter = 23.3. 60 mph is actually 60.8 mph
       tire price range: $100+

  205/50/15, diamter = 23.1 60 mph is actually 60.3
       tire price range: $60-100

  205/55/14, diameter = 22.9 60 mph is actually 59.7
       tire price range: $90-150

  195/50/15, diameter = 22.7 60 mph is actually 59.2
       tire price range: $40-80

In other words, in any wheel/tire size i get over 23.0 will result in my
odometer displaying more miles than i actually traveled. However, if i keep
the diameter 23 or below, the odometer will read normal or less miles than
actually traveled.
I don't race at all, and am only interested in (legal) street performance
and the best bang for the buck. I am considering the 195/50/15's (there were
TONS of tire options for this group). So once again, here is my question:

Will a negative overall diameter adversely affect any component of my Sentra
other than an odometer reading of less miles than were actually traveled?

ps. FYI, the actual mph reveals the miles that your car actually travels
regardless of what the odometer says, and also the actual mph is what the
police register on their radars...so if you see you are doing 65mph, in
reality you can be doing more (or less depending on diameter), which is what
the police radar will read.
