Do the research & you will be amazed as I learned too the synchro's
don't work well enough. The Celica & S2000 are known as Lemon cars cuz of
that.
Many people have blown their motors as early as 2 months of buying the car.
Complaints average from young 21 year-old to 22-48 year old adults. So its
not old people race on the free like the young import crowd. Toyota has even
thought of having a recall since so many people have registered the same
complaint with the car. Toyota is currently developing a way to fix this.
Their solution on the '01 Celica was to put stiffer springs or "syncro's" or
whatever it is to fix this. But alas, same problem occurs in both cars till
this day. If synchro's stop you or prevent from going into wrong gear, or
help you not to over rev the motor, then they either they are verly loose
synchro's or sumthin's up.
Plus, you are gonna tell me that for example a sentra or honda is running
& they are in 4th & you decide to put 1st you won't have a thing that warns.
Like a clak or clik, or sumthin.
That freakin tranny will accept any gear without fault like if you were
drivin it normally

And if you don't think the gears on the Celica are close, try them out for
yourself. Test how suprisingly close they feel. I could see if your new to
the car you could easily mishift. Then you will see what I mean.
