>Hey, is antone other than me having problems installing their CAI?
Oh, yeah. I posted to the Bulletin Board about this last night. I installed
the CAI yesterday on my 94 XE, and it took a long time to resolve the
problems. The throttle body-to-MAF pipe is obviously designed for a B14
only, and the MAF adapter is wrong as well, as you noticed.
Slot out the holes on the adapter and the holes on the MAF, and you can make
it fit. This will take some effort--just be careful and put some tape over
the sampling hole in the MAF so you don't get metal shavings in it. As for
the hose fittings, I just made an adapter for the big vacuum hose and made
it fit. It looks ghetto and I don't know how well it will hold up in the
long run, but for now it works.
On a positive note, once you get it installed, it does make a lot of power.
My car sounds and pulls like a monster now. The midrange is noticably
stronger and the high-end just keeps on pulling, much harder and stronger
than before.
I think HotShot should be informed of this problem. I personally find it
unacceptable that this issue exists--if they had even taken a glance at a
B13 intake pipe, they would have realized that a B14 unit is not compatible
without extensive rigging.
