To my horror he proudly told me he had bought one for his son and would like me to fit it with an extra stiff graphite!!!

LOL, the club probably cost more than the labor put into reshafting it! There's plenty of decent components out there for reasonable prices which you could sell him, don't bother messing with this crap!
