When you see the gap first investigate creep.
That exposes the shaft/hosel joint where you can investigate a bent shaft (possibly start of a break in graphite shafts).
Observe the epoxy cone as mentioned .
LAST pull the head, clean and prep head and shaft tip (looking at condition again) and rebuild.
This is the sequence unless you just got a new shaft puller, torch, heat gun that you feel compelled to use now!
