Hi All.

Most of subscribers want use VirtualPascal. A greates compiler for OS/2 at current
time. But... Who know about future of VirtualPascal? At current time no feedback, no
new versions, nothing. If in future situation still be some? And, for example, Delphi
will
be support new feature, without this feature we can't port Deplhi sources to Sibyl.
And?
Nothing... We can't do something in this situation.

So, we must use any open source compiler. At current time we have 2 compilers:
FreePascal
GNU Pascal

Of couse, I want select GNU Pascal. Support of many platforms without many
problems, support of many standarts & implementations of pascal. But... Native OS API
not supported. And required make big work of creation of OS/2 API support. And we
have only old version for OS/2.

Another open source compiler is FreePascal. At current time greatest open source
compiler. Support of os specific apis, lot of platforms. But os/2 version is not
implemented so good as linux/dos/windows versions. Also FreePascal have project
Lazarus - similar to us - make RAD for Pascal. And we can use some sources from
Lazarus project for support Windows and X targets. And develop only OS/2 version as
a base. Some peoples don't like emx. Hm... Why? I don't understand. Just some
library.

Yes, i agree with using of vpc as a base compiler. But we can have a problems in
future. So, we need make selection of compiler without problems in future.

Bye.
