In my previous residence in Kansas, same deal. In fact, we got 2 cablemodems
(we had 5 people living in a house) and they forced us to pay for cable TV
twice. Really annoying, but as you said, there's no real alternative in high
speed bandwidth for the price, as SWB's ADSL here is ridiculous. Or you
could move to one of the few apartment complex's around here that have
ethernet service, maybe some aren't dysfunctional like ours is.
