as long as you have a decent ethernet card (and i use the word decent
loosely, counting my ISA ne2000 among the bunch), it is possible
to acheive up to 9Mbps on a 10Mb network.  this is purely from
personal experience.  (486dx80).  a 486sx25 might be a different story,
dunno.
i wouldn't really worry about it tho.  as soon as the service becomes
widespread the only promise theyre making is "it will be faster than isdn"
meaning it will be well below 4mbps avg.

call me a pessimist on this front, but im waiting to see how
things look around february before i sign up for this.
