What do you think - where would be a good place (besides the fact that
it's hard to tell today, but what would be your recommendations if it
were to happen in a year or so)?

Last year I bought a flat in Mysore. Thankfully, Mysore is still
relatively laid back. Sadly, I do not see it staying this way for
long. I would *love* to retire in Kerala. I saw some beautiful places
near Kochi where I would not mind living at all.

Ideally, I would want to retire to a place with decent bandwidth, a
couple of hours from a domestic airport, an hour from a train station,
lots of gardening space with clement weather for the home gardner,
great bookstores and a lively art scene.
