So, apart from the former being atoms and the latter being bits, what are
the differences between khadi and open source software?
Even that distinction is too facile: one might argue that khadi, like
punk*, "is an attitude"; if the point is to direct one's activities in
anagoric as well as agoric directions, then the cloth itself, like the CD
of a distribution, is the accident, not the essence.

* OK, if the political class in india (whether governmental or NG) tends
to be khadi clad, that pretty much speaks to a different demographic than
punk. But it does suggest that CSPAN might be more interesting if the US
political class ditched the suits and took their sartorial cues from punks
and skins.
