Does it? What about the tradition of coopting the trappings and symbols of power in order to mock them? Khadi seems like a perfect vehicle for that. Handmade, by individuals, it should be perfect for throwing the hypocrisy of politicians back in their faces. I've been shopping at Khadi Bhandar, but I don't think I'll ever be mistaken for an Indian politician. Am I committing some kind of faux pas? How about if I dye some of my khadi black and paint a big red A in a circle on it? -- Charles
