True, Tippu used a Jain temple to store ammo. Sultan's Battery is the Brit name. Ganapathyvattom, even as Ganapady Watton, was a bit too hard for them. :) Malabar Manual (William Logan, 1877) should have more juice. It is such painfully researched work, and yet a good part of it immensely readable. I can't imagine him missing such details.
