I am also seriously pondering the option of asking the tbd collective
to unsubscribe from silk and ask to be individually added. I find the
various arguments in favour of some unnamed collective posting on THIS
particular list unconvincing, and might do a more detailed
deconstruction of exactly why later. For now, I'll say this: silk is a
community which is made up of a)individuals who b)know each other at
some level. There are exceptions, sure, but I see no reason to
actively encourage them.
More on this later. I am currently in a hut in the Nilgiris on
vacation and posting from a cellphone (which explains the
top-posting). I was checking mail while waiting to go on a long trek
and was moved to post by a sense of annoyance at what seems to be a
thread of disingenuousness (or, to be more charitable, excessive
naivete) in "tbd"'s postings.
