Oh, those clubs...you are not let in if your tee shirt doesn't have a
collar (another heat-trap feature of clothing ; it was designed to
hold the heat-trapping tie, which in Hindi is pithily called the
"kanth-langot" or "neck-loincloth") and if you are not wearing
heat-trapping socks and shoes, but are comfortably in a pair of
sandals.

But of course these restrictions apply only to men! It's nice to see
the  pyt's  wearingskimpy spaghetti tops and high-heeled sandals,
swanning in while the males get caught by the receptionist or whotever
it, whose job, apparently, is only  to sit at the entrance and keep
noting whose tees have collars.....

HOW we love telling other people that certain things can't be done!
