Subject: CS>Minerals Lost in Sweat, What kind and How much ?
How do you know what minerals are lost is Sweat, .......
if any ?
It is possible to sweat and not loose salt, not sure about all the
others. However, I expect if the sweat does not contain salt, then it
does not contain all the others minerals that people are assuming to be
in Sweat.
Wayne,
When I was doing research for my book on sauna therapy, I learned that
sweating over time kind of "conditions" the body to selectively excrete some
minerals and not others. Of all the minerals, the body eventually
compensates for the loss of salt. It does not excrete salt as readily as it
excretes other minerals. Of course, everyone is different, but holding on to
sodium is common after one has been sweating over the course of many sweat
sessions. This is true whether the sweating is due to exercise/heavy labor
or sauna therapy.
