I have been using DMSO for many years on myself, friends and animals.  The book
says if you are allergic to sullphur, you may not be able to use it.  Below the
waist full strength is no problem for most people.  Above the waist it must be
diluted 50%.  I never use the gel, it stays in one spot too long.  As someone
else suggested always try on a small spot first to see if any alergic
reaction..  If I have a dog with a sprained foot or a friend with a sprained
ankle, I apply it full strength.  Again the liquid, not the gel.  I have had
dogs with severe hip dysplasia.  Those guys I give a sub=Q injection according
to the directions in the book....so much for each 25 lbs of dog..

It is too bad that someone that has used DMSO wasn't around to let you know
that it should be tried on a very small spot the first time to see if there was
a reaction. I have one friend who can not use it at all. Another friend can not
use the gel but has wonderful results using the rose scented. My son and I can
use any of it with wonderful results. I can even apply the 99,9 % pure liquid
topically and have no adverse reaction. If I take a tsp. of the liquid in juice
I can taste "the taste". I am very sorry that your husband had such a bad
reaction. I do feel that for many people, not all {as with any holistic
medicine} it has saved a great deal of intense pain.. Lois
