Hi Sol and Sandee,
I agree that DMSO is drying, and generally, I use it in Brooks' mix or 50/50
with aloe, but when I had uveiitis (after having had it years ago and taking
abx ointment for it) I added a just few drops to an eye-dropper bottle full of
CS. (Scary, but I'd heard it could help) It did! In a much shorter time, the
scarlet sclera cleared, the pain within the eye-ball disappeared, and when I
finally got to my ophthamologist, the slit-lamp exam revealed a very cleared-up
eye. He gave my unconventional remedy his blessing, and, one flare since, I've
used this, with the same good results.
I regularly use CS drops for dry-eye from Lyme disease and this is usually
enough to fix the situation. I also use the contents of one (00) MSM capsule in
a full bottle and use that if my eyes get irritated, but for big-time uveiitis,
I'll always use DMSO, as a small amount really delivers the CS to where it can
do the most good. (no drying)

Be well,
Léna
