Be very careful of pulling wisdom teeth. I would use a Godzilla zapping
device to get rid of any potential infections before I would pull any teeth.
You can damage the lingual (and other) nerves permanently if you aren't
careful and that would cause a lifetime of pain and suffering in your jaw
and tongue. My lingual nerve was damaged from an injection of articaine for
a root canal procedure. It was a full 7 years before I was able to heal the
nerve and those seven years were hell on earth. Constant burning pain in
the tongue 24/7 along with many other horrific sensations and taste
alterations. I'm fine now thanks to acupuncture, B vitamins and cannabis
(yes, cannabis is neurogenic, it causes nerves to grow). I now use a
Godzilla whenever I have a painful tooth and it never fails to kill the
bacteria causing the problem whether in a root or tooth.

And as one ages, one cares less about what others may think ~ life's too

It isn't that bad, Pat. I lost not only my wisdom tooth on one side, but I
also lost three others next to that wisdom tooth.. No one has commented; I
am still making new friends; I totally ignore it, and no one has asked me
about it.

In fact, I am glad for this reminder because I used to be so self-conscious
for much of my life. Somewhere along the way, I lost that
self-consciousness, maybe because I am so busy finding things I can do for
others. It is amazing how unimportant a tooth is compared to all the good
you do and all the love you share.

I had to have a wisdom tooth extracted a couple of months ago. It had had a
mercury filling removed and had ozone treatment and a partial crown a year
ago, but it became abscessed. The dentist said that I had two choices, root
canal or extraction. He said that he wouldn't have root canals for himself
or his family since the bacteria hides in the roots and even ozone cannot
get rid of all of it. I hate having this huge gap and often quit smiling to
cover it (even though the kids say it doesn't really show.) The dentist
said that I could be evaluated for an implant in 5 or 6 months, but that one
would cost $4,500. I guess I'll have to get used to the gap. = (
