The problem is, that everyone is different: presenting with different needs, nutritional/mineral deficiencies, age, condition, so what works for one person isn't the one-size-fits-all rule.
The Lyme community has had to learned this the hard way, and much trial and error is required for each person to discover what works. The problem with H. zoster, is that time IS important, as it can do irreparable harm to the nerves, so 'taking longer' isn't a luxury the sufferer can afford. One person wrote that a senior he knew finally committed suicide because of the unrelenting, incapacitating chronic pain of PHN. When I was in the middle of it, I feared that my life as I'd known it was over. Death looked appealing. Thank goodness the PHN retreated. Glad I did all I could, despite not knowing what specifically did the trick. I suspect everything contributed. And if it ever returns, I'll do it all again.
