Hi Dave,

I wrote at length about this yesterday. As Ernest Traub came to Plum Island
almost immediately after the war, it's feasible that many people were infected
on the CT coast by 1950 with his specific creation, but Lyme has also been
identified in Civil war dead in the eastern US, which seriously predates Traub
and his bioweapon 'research'.
Meanwhile, there is Lyme in Europe (like the Lyme that infected Utzi, the
ancient, mummified 'IceMan' discovered in the Italian Alps), and there is Lyme
in many other parts of the world. Migratory animals can take some credit, I
suppose, and now that Lyme is being called an STD, there could have been other
ways for it to spread, from vectors to hosts, back to vectors.

Identifying the various co-infections can be helpful when fighting the disease
and the weaponized Lyme has a definite signature, but assigning credit for
where it originated, otherwise, is like arguing how many angels can dance on
the head of a pin.

Be well,
Léna
