Dear Andre,
I have not any great experience, but before the
experts answer, we think that you should not
attempt to drink it. The bitter taste may be from
Silver Nitrate or Silver Chloride, which are both
toxic.

It must have taken you a long while to make your
own distilled water but have you got a pure water
tester to check the quality, and did you use your
DMM to check that the new water was
registering a current of not more than 1mA.

glass kettle.
I have never boiled the water, I use pure water
straight from the bottle.

Don't let your CS run for longer than 12mA on
your meter. This is when mine starts to produce
sludge anyway, so I can see as well as read
when to stop. My CS is clear when freshly
made, and turns to a very, very pale champagne
colour overnight. When you take a small amount
from the jar it looks clear, and never goes any
darker. A dark colour does not mean that there
are more ppm in the colloid.

Use a laser if you have one, I can't because
they are illegal in England, I use a torch. Shine
it through your CS in a darkened room. If you
see a beam going straight through the jar, then
you have a colloid. This is called the Tyndall
Effect. Any other solution doesn't do this.

Try these suggestions, and I'm sure there will be
lots more from the long time CS producers.
