Before you get too far down this road a little reseach on activated carbon
filtration before and after distilling would be in order

It rather difficult to compete with Wal-Mart DW with a conductance of .2 uS
for $0.66 per gallon.

Copper is a real bug-a-boo as steam si so reactive that you will wind up
with about 4 to 6 ppm of copper in your DW. Borosilicate glass would be
superior.
