Hatter......That madness is Mercury Poisoning. Mercury is also used to
amalgam gold from gold-bearing 'black sands'. Retorting the mercury off of
the gold gave a lot of placer-miners "Hatters Disease" since they may not
have been careful enough not to breath or otherwise absorb the mercury.
Silver probably is amalgammed much the same way. But nowadays, how might
you accumulate enough mercury in your body to matter--presuming you are not
using the stuff???? Living on Cinnebar Mountain??? That it CAN happen, OK,
possible. That there is much likelihood is totally a different question.
It sounds a bit like pharmaceutical house obfustification from where I sit.
