Well done Carol, Silicon rubber tubing should be good enough for joining bits to pieces. You could get a scientific glassblower to make a cooling coil or you might be able to find one off the shelf. Your local high school or university Physics department should be able to point you in the right direction or lend you a catalogue. You want the glass similar to Pyrex to stand the temperature, shock etc. I think it is called borosilicate glass.
