I am sorry that you are having such awful problems. It does seem that you need some HCL but how to get it where it belongs is the dilemma. Have you considered that some of the reflux could be an allergy to something you are eating? Absolutely everyone is different and I would definitely look to a food intolerance for the indigestion problems. Is the ulcer from the reflux? Could your esophageal ulcer be like stomach ulcers and caused by a bacteria or virus (I can't remember which it is)? Sorry if it sounds like I am just being nosey. Since I stuck my 2 cents in earlier I feel somewhat involved now and I really would like to help you find answers if I could.
I appreciate the information about the betaine HCL tablets. I wasn't aware of Dr. Clark's recommendation. I am a metal plater and, naturally, the idea of ingesting liquid HCL conjured up visions of my pickling baths and I may have overreacted. Please forgive me if I was insensitive and I would like to know of your progress.
