All the sniffling and runny nose can continue long after the cold is gone. I call it "cleaning house after the monster makes the mess" The actual cold is gone when that "beat with a lead pipe" feeling goes away. If any pipe beating feelings are about or scratchy throat etc, it's already too late for prevention and high doses of CS will only limit the damage...and all damage must be cleaned up. ..and yes, there is some question about how well oral application does that. My experience is that CS does great on sore throats but it's hard to tell exactly what effect it has on the deep bugs. It seems to help a lot to shorten recovery time but only with a very fast and early high dose response. Ken
