I'd say no, it's not a problem. The food undoubtedly cushions the DE.

On the other hand, since the food is cushioning the DE in the digestive
tract, I don't know if this is the best way to provide protection against
worms. The capsules   containing EDTA and DE that I sometimes take (for
toxic metals AND parasites), must be taken on an empty stomach so the
formula can do its work, according to the man who makes the formula. The
capsules prevent the DE from scraping the food tube leading to the stomach;
and once the stuff reaches the stomach and intestines, there's no harm.

Obviously a cat or dog won't be that cooperative in taking capsules. I'd be
interested in knowing other people's successes or failures using DE in their
pets' food.
