Robb, you've got a lot of reasons to want to take control of what's happening to you. A lot of your creativity and passion is tied up in the things you do. And I believe you can win. But whatever ends up working for you, you're the one who will have to make the changes. In case you didn't see it before, I sent the message below in response to your earlier request. I've solved *part* of my problems with CS -- a decade of bronchial and strep infections. Another aspect, dangerously high triglycerides, is coming under contol with the diet changes I talk about below. I hope you'll dig up Audette's book and consider his recommendations. It should make some sense to you in regard to your RA. My weight loss is solid at 20 pounds now. I have a lot more energy and very little craving for anything. I'll be visiting the doctor monday and get some more blood drawn. I'm eager to see how the lipid numbers come back this time. Everything he says seems to work so far. > I also have a suspicion that I could possibly have candida Now, like you, I'm going to have to research candida, to see if it can explain a persistent respiratory problem I'm dealing with that doesn't seem to respond to anything I've tried yet. One improvement at a time, Robb. If you assume RA is an autoimmune response, then anything you can do to quiet your immune system -- eg. reduce the load of pathogens and allergens in your system -- should be a good thing. CS sounds like it may help. Try taking a moderate dose regularly for a while instead of occasional large doses. Then research other possibilities, including diet. I wish you well. Mike D. From: "M. Neanderthin, by Ray Audette and Troy Gilchrist, http://www.amazon.com/exec/obidos/ASIN/0312975910/qid=1002677293/sr=1-1/ ref=sr_1_2_1/102-5127654-1730540 Or get it from your local bookstore in the diet section... Audette writes about his rheumatoid arthritis nearly crippling him at a young age, and figuring out that eating grains and other carbohydrates were responsible for it. Began eating a carb restricted diet similar to what a prehistoric man would have eaten and began to see results immediately. You sound *just* like his self description. I've been eating his way for 2 months now, brought my triglycerides down from 985 to 615 in a month, and have lost 15-20 pounds. It is very doable. I don't have cravings or hunger. I don't miss a thing. Get it, read it, try it. I hope you succeed. You need to find the answers -- now. Be well, Mike D.
