What is the actual amount of the other minerals present in .999 Ag in 10 mg/L silver per mineral?
I have not done the calcs in a long time, but I think it is very far below the threshold of toxicity. There is a total .001 other substances, divided proportionally among them. In practice, most .999 silver is a bit purer than the stated amount; you often see "0.999+ fine"; they are hedging conservatively. Many actual researchers think that amount of toxic minerals is trivial, and does not justify the much higher price of the four nines silver. Silver is available in purities so high that it is more expensive than fairly fine gold. If one is doing very critical and minute laboratory analyses then the ultra-pure silver may be required.
