I make butter from whole milk, and the buttermilk will sour quickly, so to delay that I have had great success in adding 8-10 drops of hydrogen peroxide (35%) and a tablespoon of CS.

Get a spray bottle and spray it on your vegies (anything that you put back in the fridge) to retard spoilage
