Hi Robb ~ I am presently taking my Reiki Master's course and have found Reiki very effective for various ailments. My 17 year old daughter asks me to give her Reiki when she has a headache or a stomach ache and in less than 5 minutes, she is better. She refuses to learn to do this herself, tho maybe when she moves out and is on her own, she will. :-) Our animal communicator volunteered to do some energy work on our pups who got parvo last year. She was able to point out which of the 5 pups was the worst without my saying so and gave her Reiki healing. This pup was nearly healed completely that following day. Barbara Brennan has written several books with regards to hands on healing. One of my favorites is "Hands of Light - A Guide to Healing Through the Human Energy Field". She was a research scientist at NASA, prior to writing her books, establishing a hands on healing practice, and opening the Barbara Brennan School of Healing. We have found it very useful, simple, and amazing. Universal energy can heal anything, provided the patient truly desires to be healed. Chakras can be balanced and what a difference it makes when they are open and aligned. Same with the human aura. Healers, like Barbara Brennan can tell by a persons aura what ails them, quicker than any doctor and without all the tests. Since everything is made up of energy, it makes sense that Reiki or hands on healing is so effective. Many cities offer Reiki classes. There are also internet Reiki courses. Note there can be detox side effects from Reiki healing or attunements as well.
