I'm a level 1 Reiki practitioner.  Animals are always willing to be healed,
right up until it's time for them to leave this world.  My dogs pull the
healing energy through me, my palms get so hot that it's almost painful to
me.   I've worked on dogs belonging to friends and had the same experience.

And there's the rub.....my mother refuses to let me do healing on her, she
thinks I get that power from "The Devil."  Never mind that Jesus healed
people by putting his hands on them, in Mom's mind it doesn't happen today.

Many people have the trouble with the concept of energy vs. solid matter.
It's easy to understand the idea once one realizes that the human body - as
well as every other "material" object we can see - is composed of
atoms.....and atoms are energy.  Solid matter is nothing more (or less) than
a locally dense energy field.
