Due to the lack of oxygen which is displaced by the heavier CO2.  Assuming a
gap between silver and water where the said corona exists.

The worry is not gases in the air but added NO3s to the product.

Ole Bob has btdt.  I think Bob says 10ppm of NO3 limit.
