What we now know as powdered sugar was used during the civil war to stop
bleeding (amputions - legs, arms, hands, gunshots etc.) and to prevent
infections.  I keep a small jar full of it when I am chopping onions etc.
and my finger gets in the way.  Works quite well - now to figure out how to
keep my fingers from interferring with the knife.  CU - Marjie
