I had lifetime acne - severe- including after following a regime of accutane, until used an intensive dosing of golden seal. I used a liquid form of it, one dropperful , each morning, and within a month my acne was completely gone. I have not had to resume the use of golden seal for that purpose, have had no recurrent boutes of generalized acne. I have had an occasional small pimple, which lets me know something is off balance in my system, and I go looking/ inwardly feeling/sensing for the cause. Its not usually connected with what I am eating, unless have eaten a poor combination of food - it is usually a signal that I am not digesting my food well, for one reason or another. Toxins resulting in my digestive tract seems to be the most common cause of such problems for me. Watching more carefully my food combinations and utilizing digestive enzymes will usually clear up the problem. At times it has been a warning of increasing liver toxicity, need for a liver cleanse - when I have let that go too long. Did a series of them at one point, then backed off to doing two a year or so. However, if I let it go too long I will notice generalized body symptomology, and an occasional pimple can be a part of that process, along with increasing aches and pains of arthritis. Joy
