I have to agree on this one. I bought an Easycook Turbo oven about 23 years ago, and used and used and used it. http://www.ogilviedistributors.com.au/store/index.php?main_page=index&cPath=72_80 I gave our microwave oven to my son and DIL when they got married, and they used it until they got a flash new one, and returned it to us. I wondered out loud to my husband yesterday whether Son No. 2 might like the microwave when he moves into his flat, and DH reminded me that microwaved food makes DS2 feel ill.
In the end my little turbo oven gave up trying, and the local repairer didn't think he could fix it economically. I bought a new, larger one, an electronic one, which was great until it stopped working. For both these ovens, I contacted the makers, and simply bought new lids. These ovens are glass bowls, with a glass lid and a heating and fan device on top. I just use them all the time. I don't know when I last used my big, expensive oven. The microwave oven just sits there, threatening to zap us good if ever it gets a chance. Its death knell in our house was when I read research many years ago that heating milk in a microwave converts some part of the milk into carcinogenic compounds. Somebody here might be able to tell you how to make CS with your old microwave, DB! R -- The Silver List is a moderated forum for discussing Colloidal Silver.
