I think it complexes in the septic tank and eventually become biologically inert.
I a have a tiny tankless system. It is simply an 8 x 10 x 4 deep hole filled 1 foot with pumice and then a single "infiltrator" unit installed. Infiltrators are like upside down plastic bathtubs with louvers on the sides and an inlet. They are designed to snap together endwise, and make a large leach field. I have been dumping the waste water, grey and black, for one and occasionally two people into the thing for about 6 years with no problem. It is installed in very tight clay soil. I have occasionally put a gallon of my sol into the water storage tank of 1700 gallons, to keep it clean and prevent algae growth. I have also dumped a gallon into the well at least twice swishing it around the inside of the casing. I occasionally rinse small amounts of silver into the kitchen sink. So far, the system is working fine. Bear in mind that every time you take a dump, you are re-inoculating the system. -----Original Message----- From: Medwith, Robert [mailto:[email protected]] Sent: Friday, May 19, 2006 10:50 AM To: 'cs' Subject: CS>Shocking a well with CS Shocking the well is good, but I thought it was bad to put the CS in to a septic tank and field. When I think of well I think septic tank, if this is what you have you could run out side faucet to clear every thing out. I wonder how much CS it would take to kill a septic tank and field. Bob
