How long. Hmm.. I just keep testing until I reach 6 pmm as I I'm using a TDS. I would say couple of hrs. Sometimes, if I start and get busy with something else I know will distract my attention from the brew, I shut it down and resume later on.
I'd say 1.5, sometimes 2+ hrs minimum for a quart of 10 pmm.
