I need help

I cannot get this to work to save my life. I have 2 mail servers - SIMS and AMS. Either of these can receive mail if they are the only one running. They are both on spellnetwork.com domain. This is what I want to do.....
All mail goes to SIMS - EXCEPT - for 1 account which is an IMAP account. I have tried several scenarios.
I had 2 MX records for spellnetwork with the same priority - that didn't work. I tried 1 MX record for SIMS and tried to route to the AMS - still no go. Could someone give me a clue here?
All mail works properly except the 1 imap account on AMS. Everything works with that account except it can't receive mail. If I turn off SIMS and leave AMS running I can get mail on it for that one account. Any help would be appreciated.
