i'm not claiming that outbound gives any additional value. it would
have given if it had forced dual registration when there is two
outbound
proxies in the set.
Outbound-15 4.2.1 says:
For each outbound proxy URI in the set, the UAC SHOULD send a REGISTER
request using this URI as the default outbound proxy. (Alternatively,
the UA could limit the number of flows formed to conserve battery
power, for example). If the set has more than one URI, the UAC MUST
send a REGISTER request to at least two of the default outbound
proxies from the set.
As far as I can tell, that means that the UAC must dual register when
there are two proxies.
Section 3.4 of Outbound, BTW, talks about how to dual-register with
one registrar WITHOUT outbound.
